Trusting the God who remembers and acts on his promises | Exodus 1-4 | Dominic Steele | 17 July 2022
July 17, 2022
We start a new series at Village today on God’s great rescue in the book of Exodus. Exodus is at the centre of the whole Old Testament action and it is a lynchpin of biblical understandingIf the gospel message of Jesus - his death on the cross and resurrection - where God makes a promise, remembers a promise and acts - is at the centre of Christian faith. Then the centre of Old Testament faith - is God saving a people - making a promise, remembering a promise and acting. So today we start a journey on holy ground, looking at the great foundational text of the faith of the Old Testament Israelites, and consequently the foundational text for Christian faith. We will see over the next few weeks the supreme Old Testament example of God's saving character and acts. There’s a very real sense that if we want to understand the central message of the New Testament, that you can’t really understand it - without having Exodus locked in place. So join us today and over the next six to eight weeks at Village as Dominic Steele takes us to the heart of the Old Testament book of Exodus. Today Exodus 1-4.
